In addition to the attack by the government and the legislation, the Ryanair airline pursues a business policy that tramples the rights of Hungarian consumers, therefore, according to the Protected Society Foundation, it was timely for the authorities to thoroughly investigate the operations of the multi-company in Hungary, reports Magyar Nemzet.

- It should by no means be a surprise for Ryanair that in this extraordinary economic environment, during the intensified energy crisis, the government has committed itself to protecting the low official price level affecting the population, one of the tools of which is the extra-profit special tax introduced in several sectors. With solutions similar to this, all European countries are trying to fend off the effects of war , the lawyer of the Protected Society Foundation told Magyar Nemzet about the discount airline's offensive launched at the beginning of June.

Máté Tóth pointed out: the new tax is not at all an extraordinary domestic invention, the taxation of airline tickets is a tool used in many forms not only on the continent, but worldwide, and in many countries the amount is higher than in our country.

- Ryanair is also aware of this, as they serve in many countries.

The Hungarian government provides a positive, investor-friendly environment for the airline and all other large foreign companies, and has so far refrained from imposing such taxes, which it initially plans to only temporarily until the extraordinary economic-war situation requires it, emphasized the legal expert, who, according to thus, the rampant performances of the representative of the multi-company in Ireland, in which he portrays Ryanair as a cornered, innocent market enterprise, create an immeasurably false situation.

This time, the tycoon from Ireland piled up the terms "idiot" and "crazy" that he repeated to the point of boredom, both against the tax and the government and its members.

"Now they are just adding to the series of unlawful practices by transferring the amount of the special tax to travelers, which is completely contrary to its original intention, to support families," said Máté Tóth, who thinks that it is a strong slip on the part of the multinational that the government only imposed it on Ryanair special tax, which the ground handling companies have to pay into the budget in the first place, i.e. the airline is only indirectly affected.

"To act against this in this way is generally very insidious ," he said, refuting the concepts spread in the left-wing press, according to which the authorities are investigating because the government was offended by the criticism and now exercises power...

...In the culture of large companies that see themselves as sophisticated Western advocates of consumer needs, the behavior of the CEO is ethically objectionable, but the company crossed the red line by essentially looking down on the Hungarians and our rules according to the European norm system with typical colonial logic. According to the legal expert, Ryanair is constantly violating the laws in our country by serially deceiving passengers, ignoring regulations related to consumer rights, and the previous practice of handling complaints.

- They contemptuously assume that everyone here is uninformed and doesn't know what's going on. And the practice that has been repeatedly reversed has recently culminated in the use of passengers' personal data to ask Hungarians by e-mail to take action against the government due to the imposition of the special tax. Legally, this also needs to be examined, as the ticket buyers certainly did not provide their data to the airline with this intention in the past, outlined Máté Tóth.

As he recalled, before this, a notice in English was published on the Hungarian booking site, in which the Irish low-cost company informed that the special tax had been imposed on consumers by the government. In addition to the large number of consumer complaints received due to the transfer of the tax, the Védett Társadalom Alápítvány filed a public interest report with the authority, and then the Ministry of Justice launched a comprehensive investigation.

– This is deceiving consumers, which is clearly prohibited by law in Hungary and in the entire European Union. Based on the same legislation, the subsequent transfer of the cost due to the special tax is also considered a prohibited commercial practice. It is absolutely certain that the company will be able to count on a fine, the amount of which can be substantial, as they are based not only on the turnover here, but also on the income of the entire parent company in Ireland. In addition, Ryanair will be prohibited from illegal behavior and consumers can also file compensation lawsuits against it - listed the lawyer of the Protected Society Foundation...
