... The most serious ecological disaster in the history of Slovakia began four months ago. Contaminated mine water has been flowing from the iron ore mine in Alsósajó, which was shut down years ago, since February 24.

Orosz Ors, together with the local representatives of the Association in Gömör, has been fighting since the beginning of March so that water saturated with toxic substances can no longer poison one of the largest rivers in Eastern Slovakia.

After the traditional means of solving the problem, a press conference, letters sent to the relevant ministers, an open letter addressed to the heads of ministries, the publication of the alarming results of the water test, the results of the ichthological test in May did not move the stagnant waters of Bratislava, Oroszék brought the Sajó home in order to save the Gömör river. water, and then with local activists, they blocked the outlet of the Alsósajó mine with sandbags for 30 minutes, through which the poison has been pouring into the Sajó for 4 months.

The wildlife of the river has been destroyed, and the iron ore mine, instead of trying to fix the problem, files a complaint against those who have been fighting for the river for the fourth month.
