Before the official start of the NATO summit, Prime Minister Viktor Orbán held talks with Andres Pastrana, the president of CDI, which brings together the world's Christian-democratic and conservative parties, in Madrid on Wednesday morning, Bertalan Havasi, the prime minister's press chief, told MTI.
At the meeting, which was also attended by Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó, they agreed that the further spread of the war in Ukraine should be prevented, the Ukrainian people should be supported, and refugees should be accepted.
Viktor Orbán explained in connection with the NATO summit: we do not support any proposal that could drag NATO and Hungary into this conflict, since this is a Russian-Ukrainian war, and NATO is a defense alliance.
