After his successes with millions of dollars in changing the justice system and the education system, the stock speculator turned to the political influence of the Spanish-speaking population of the United States, according to an analysis by The American Conservative. According to the author, the latest attempt to conquer media space is one of the desperate steps taken by the Democratic Party government, which is losing on all fronts during the half-term of the Biden administration, reports hirado.hu .
György Soros is an expert on how to slowly but surely achieve political changes in the United States, writes The American Conservative (TAC). According to the author of the article, Edgar Beltrán, a Venezuelan journalist and editor of El American, the billionaire stock speculator has succeeded in several of his political missions in the past decade: first of all, he set the goal of progressive reform of the criminal justice system, for which he did not even have to corrupt or fill it with millions of dollars the pockets of congressmen. It was enough for him to gain influence in the legal centers of city government, i.e. to quietly funnel his "donations" into a few dozen metropolitan district attorney's offices. A few years later, the disruption of the education system was on the table, the author points out. As he writes, Soros then poured millions into civil organizations and think tanks, which then retuned the local school boards in accordance with their political interests as unavoidable advisory boards.
It seems that György Soros has already found a new target: the Spanish-language American media
- points out Beltrán.
He says Democrats are wise to worry about Hispanic voters. According to a YouGov survey
in another possible Trump or Biden election, 38 percent of Hispanics would vote for Trump, while only 29 percent would vote for Biden. According to a Quinnipiac poll, only a quarter of Hispanics are satisfied with Biden's performance as president.
According to the article, György Soros and the Lakestar Finance investment company connected to the investment company Soros Fund Management financed the Latino Media Network, which was recently established with 80 million start-up capital, and which was approached by two Democratic agents in the Obama administration and Jess Morales in Hillary Clinton's presidential election campaign. Managed by Rocketto and Stephanie Valencia. They started with a big splash: they bought 18 Spanish-language radio stations from Televisa-Univision for $60 million in the cities with the largest Spanish-speaking populations in the United States: Los Angeles, New York, Miami, Houston, Dallas and San Antonio. Soros' media group thus reaches a third of the country's Spanish-speaking population.
The most significant deal, however, was the acquisition of Radio Mambí, a Miami-based organ financed and run mainly by Cuban-Americans. An employee of the radio told El American that Televisa-Univision had already agreed to sell the stations to Salem Media Group, a Christian media group, for $46 million, but they could not compete with Latino Media Network's $60 million offer. According to a source in El American
Soros' irresistible offer is nothing more than " a desperate move by Democrats who, in an election year when they stand to lose everything, cannot afford a Christian-conservative broadcaster to take away a large part of the radio market, which also reaches the Latino community" .
Rocketto and Valencia claim that they have nothing to do with party politics, which is why they have included well-known Republicans from the Latino community on the board, but despite efforts to maintain appearances, the acquisition of Radio Mambí is a clear attempt to silence Spanish-speaking conservative voices.
Latino Media Network and Televisa-Univision are trying to ensure a smooth transition by not changing programming and promising juicy bonuses to some of the channel's stars. " Will this be one of the first times Soros money proves ineffective?" - asks the author. It's hard to say, he writes, but conservatives across the United States would be wise to support Hispanic grassroots media. "Only initiative, not inaction, can build a conservative coalition of Spanish-speaking Americans," adds Edgar Beltrán.
According to the author, György Soros "works differently than most billionaire political donors" . It focuses largely on local campaigns and local politics, and tries to implement changes from the bottom up. This is a longer process, but it has a deeper and more lasting effect. More than a decade ago, Soros began pumping money to support progressive, ultra-liberal prosecutors in local district attorney elections. Between 2015 and 2019, Soros spent more than $17 million on district attorney elections, helping to elect some of the most controversial prosecutors in the country. The best-known and most infamous Soros prosecutors are George Gascon in Los Angeles, Larry Krasner in Philadelphia, Kim Foxx in Chicago, and Chesa Boudin, the San Francisco prosecutor who failed a few weeks ago.
Most of these cities have become the epicenter of movements fighting for the abolition of the police and the curtailment of the powers of law enforcement agencies, and as a result of local successes, crime has increased significantly in the affected cities. Walgreens stores in San Francisco were closed due to shoplifting, homicides increased by 30 percent in 2020, and arrests decreased by 24 percent nationwide. Philadelphia had 521 murders that year, the highest number since 1990, more than New York and Los Angeles. Law enforcement is the responsibility of 75 Soros-funded prosecutors across the country for 72 million Americans .
