At around 8:00 a.m. on Monday, the Budapest Police Headquarters (BRFK) received a report that some people were blocking traffic on the Erzsébet Bridge by standing at a cross with cars and a lawnmower, Magyar Nemzet reports.
The police had the members of the group certified, and LV. 2018 on the right to assemble. Proceedings are initiated for violation of the provisions of the law and traffic violations.
It was not the first time that the Erzsébet bridge was closed by a group linked to György Budaházy. In 2002, they protested against the electoral victory of the left because, in their opinion, the purity of the vote was questionable.
Magyar Nemzet reminds us that, as is well known, György Budaházy was sentenced to seventeen years in prison in the Hunnia trial this year by the Metropolitan Court. According to the facts of the judgment, György Budaházy organized a team from the Hunnia Movement, founded in April 2007, which can act effectively against the police forces in the Budapest demonstrations expected in the fall. The trial judge found the charge of terrorist acts committed in the criminal organization to be proven, and he weighted and imposed the sentence in light of this. The years spent in pre-trial detention are included in Budaházy's sentence, but he can only be released after completing the remaining time.
The Hatvannegy Vármegye Youth Movement also posted a video about the closing of the bridge on YouTube
Around 9 o'clock, traffic started on the bridge in both directions.
