New waves of migration due to expected famines may put Europe under greater pressure than ever before, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó stated on Wednesday in Budapest, at the press conference following the meeting of the five Central European foreign ministers.
Péter Szijjártó emphasized that Hungary's situation is even special in this regard, as it is under double pressure: due to the war in Ukraine, we have received more than 830,000 refugees from the east so far, and we have stopped about 120,000 illegal migrants at the southern border.
Of course, we will fulfill both of our tasks and obligations in the future. We provide for the refugees, we stop the migrants"
- said the minister, who said: so far, Hungary has spent 1.6 billion euros on these two tasks, and Brussels has received 2 percent of them.
PÉTER SZIJÁRTÓ ALSO ANNOUNCED: THE REFILLING OF NATURAL GAS RESERVOIRS IN HUNGARY IS CONTINUOUSLY GOING ON.
