On Wednesday evening, Ferencváros inflicted a devastating 4-1 defeat on the Slovak champion Slovan Bratislava, and thus confidently advanced to the 3rd qualifying round of the Champions League. The Slovak team gained a little confidence after the 2-1 victory in Budapest, while Ferencváros did exactly what they promised: they corrected the mistakes of the first match, played with concentration from the first whistle to the last, and this time ruthlessly took advantage of their opportunities. With the victory, participation in the autumn group stage became certain, the only question now is which European Cup series will take place.
Many people couldn't believe their eyes when they saw what the Slovakian police and organizers, who were prepared for everything, came up with to separate the Fradi fans during the second leg of the BL qualifier against Slovan. It was even okay - because this is the custom - that the 1,100 Hungarian spectators were placed in a completely separate sector.
But building a "monkey-catching" net over their heads and a high Plexiglas wall in front of them went beyond the limit.
Ok, we knew (the Slovaks also knew) the history of this match, everyone remembers the 1992 Slovakian police attack. But even then in the 21st century, we have never seen a match organizer treat the away fans like animals. Looking at this photo, that's all that came to mind.
