The series of Buda Castle Concerts is celebrating its anniversary: on August 5-6, the traditional summer festival of operetta will be held for the tenth time in the Lion's Court of Buda Castle.

On the occasion of the anniversary, the most successful and popular operettas, duets, melodies by Imre Kálmán, Ferenc Lehár, Jenő Huszka, Pál Ábrahám and other excellent Hungarian composers will be recalled, the organizers told MTI.

This time, the artists of the Budapest Operetta Theatre, its symphonic orchestra, ballet and choir, as well as star soloists and young talents will take care of the sound and the visuals. The performers will include, among others, Barbara Bordás, Annamari Dancs, Diána Kiss, Enikő Lévai, Anita Lukács, Marika Oszvald, Süle Dalma, Szendy Szilvi, Flóra Széles, Viktor Dénes, Attila Dolhai, Attila Erdős, Zsolt Homonnay, Péter Laki, Soma Langer , Ninh Duc Hoang Long and Zsolt Vadász.

The main patron of the evening is János Csák, the minister responsible for culture and innovation, according to whom the event "has withstood the test of time, its dreamers created something lasting and built a future".

"The organizers, creators and actors of the Budavári Palace Concert know the secret: not even the slightest compromise should be made in terms of quality and artistic standards. Year after year, this impressive genre in its full arsenal, in a splendid exhibition, showcasing the best of our national operetta life, is worth recalling in the courtyard surrounded by patina walls," the statement quoted the head of the ministry as saying.

According to the creator of the Palotakoncert, producer Olivér Nacsa, the anniversary program will be very special and unusual in many ways: the most memorable songs of the last decade will appear on stage in a new guise and with new choreographies.

Like Kiss-B. Attila, the general director of the Budapest Operettszínház, added that the program will also feature valuable hits from operetta literature that have not been performed at the Palace Concerts in the past decade.

The large orchestra of the Operettszínház is conducted in the background by chief music director Gyula Pfeiffer, while the ballet and choirs in the foreground make the gala lively, directed by the artistic director of the Operettszínház, Balázs Vincze. Choreographers: Bence Apáti, Levente Bajári, Gábor Lénárt, Dániel Krizsán.

As written, the production will be complemented by high-quality stage, sound, light and pyrotechnics this year, and there will be other surprises.

The Palace Concert is recorded by MTVA, the program will be shown on August 20 on Duna Television, in prime time.

The two rainy days of the Palace Concert are August 7 and 8.
