More than 2,000 public employees can receive HUF 45,600 monthly employment benefits from August 15 if they find a job in the private sector, announced Zsolt Kutnyánszky. According to the statement issued by the Ministry of Technology and Industry (TIM) on Saturday, the state secretary responsible for industry and the labor market said: in addition to the relaunch of the Public Employment to the Private Sector program, from the middle of the month it is also possible to apply for housing and travel support, which serves to further increase employment by stimulating mobility.

Thanks to the employment allowance, more than 19,000 former public employees have found work in the primary labor market. The placement of another 2,200 people can be supported from the available amount of half a billion forints. With a kind of bonus, the opportunity encourages public employees to move into the private sector as soon as possible.

In its announcement, TIM explains: support can be requested in case of employment before the end of the public employment relationship, and it is valid for the remaining period of the legal relationship. Thus, the sooner someone enters the competitive sector, the more support they can receive. A public employee who participates in seasonal agricultural work is also entitled to HUF 2,000 employment allowance per day.

As of August 15, jobseekers who find work in a settlement at least 60 kilometers from their place of residence can reapply for housing support at the employment departments of district (capital district) offices. The subsidy that can be used for apartment rent is valid for six months, the monthly amount can be no more than HUF 140,000, and whole months can be accounted for.

Similarly, starting Monday, jobseekers who have just started work and who commute to work in a settlement that is at least 10 kilometers away from their home but closer than 60 kilometers can use travel support. If other conditions are met, the support can also be granted for a period of six months. Its rate is 5 percent of the minimum wage in force at the time of determination for every 10 kilometers over the minimum distance of 10 kilometers, which is currently HUF 10,000.
