Atheists are fed up with the word "Christian Hungary", Tristan Azbej helped them see clearly.

Tristan Azbej, the head of the State Secretariat of the Prime Minister's Office responsible for helping persecuted Christians and the implementation of the Hungary Helps program, shared his opinion on the new campaign of the organization of Hungarian atheists on his Facebook page.

The Secretary of State writes in his post that the organization forgets that it is precisely the Christian cultural framework that allows them to freely launch a campaign whose anti-Christian overtones offend or provoke many. "In many countries with a non-Christian culture, irreligion is punishable in the same way as belonging to a religious minority, such as persecuted Christian communities," he explained.

According to Tristan Azbej, another mistake of the campaign is that it calls Christianity a religion. "Christianity is not a word, but - in this worldly context - a culture and a system of values. It means that we Hungarians have believed in the image of man taught by the Bible for a thousand years. We believe in human dignity and individual responsibility, we believe in compassion, in turning towards others, in the importance of human communities, we believe in the common good, in peace, in a just order," he explained. He added that when we deviated from these values, we tried to return here. “The point of reference, the origin, the compass and the voice of conscience remain,” he said.

He emphasized that he is proud of the fact that King Saint István placed the Hungarian nation on this Christian cultural pedestal, because if it had not been so, we would not have survived the vicissitudes of the past thousand years. That is why, he believed, any attempt to deny the Christian heritage is self-defeating and doomed from the start, thank God, the state secretary noted.

"Happy Saint Stephen's Day, God bless Hungary!" - concluded Azbej Tristan, the head of the State Secretariat of the Prime Minister's Office responsible for helping persecuted Christians and the implementation of the Hungary Helps program.

Almost one hundred and fifty people commented on the post within two hours.
