The multinationals want to abolish the food price cap retroactively.

The legislation fixing the official food prices was attacked by the multi-food chains in their constitutional complaint dated August 1 at the Constitutional Court, Index reported on the case.

The Dániel Karsai Law Office undertook the representation of "companies with a nationwide network and a parent company domiciled in another EU member state engaged in mixed retail trade in food stores".

In any case, the petitioners did not consent to the disclosure of their personal data.

The petitioners asked the Constitutional Court to declare the government decree establishing the maximum retail price of certain foodstuffs and other legislation related to this measure unconstitutional and to declare them inapplicable.
