The Synagogue Week series of events begins on Sunday with the Sólet Festival on the Buda Park Stage, which awaits those interested in Budapest and rural locations until September 7 with diverse cultural and entertainment programs.

On the opening day of the program series, visitors can get a taste of the traditional solets of Hungary, Israel and Libya, but they can also taste vegan solets and kosher sweets - announced the United Hungarian Jewish Community (EMIH - Hungarian Jewish Association).

The little ones can enjoy a bouncy castle, contests, craft programs, and giant board games for the older ones. The Kalap Jakab and the Hot Jazz Band will give a concert, and the Babka-puppet troupe will perform Jewish tales.

The brochure quotes Slomó Köves, the head rabbi of the EMIH, who said that everyone who is interested in Jewish culture and gastronomy and wants to spend a meaningful day with their family is welcome to the Sólet Festival, which will now be held for the seventh time. "With this festival, we also want to show that Judaism is an open, inclusive, continuously developing community, which at the same time proudly preserves its traditions," he added.

On the evening of August 28, at the concert of the Budafoki Dohnányi Orchestra on the Buda Park Stage, film scores with a Jewish theme or composed by Jewish composers will be played.

On August 31, an exhibition of Ferenc Flamm's lithographs will open in Szentendré, followed by the music of the Mojse Band trio from Slovakia. On September 3, those interested can visit Jewish memorial sites in Buda Castle.

On September 4, a performance inspired by the everyday life of the residents of the Komád Children's Home is included in the program, followed by a performance by the students of the Snétberger Music Talent Center.

Judit Schell will present details from the diary of Sándor Márai's wife, Lola, on September 5.

As part of the program series, the renovated Vasvári Synagogue will open on August 30, and the Jewish House in Debrecen will be handed over on September 7, which, in addition to cultural, educational and religious programs, also houses the kosher Hamsza restaurant. On the same day, the inauguration of Rabbi Sámuel Faigen will be held in Debrecen in the presence of renowned foreign guests, the announcement states.
