The construction of the new kindergarten and daycare center in Tusnádfürdő will begin shortly, financed by the Hungarian government's Carpathian Basin Preschool Development Program.
The conditions in Tusnádfürdő are not suitable for modern kindergarten education, mainly because the educational institution has no yard and is located next to the main road. At the same time, the fire protection license is also missing, and it is not possible to obtain it in the current building either, because although the equipment is good, it was not built for this purpose, it operates in a converted old villa. The construction of a new kindergarten was a long-standing need in the spa town, and the opportunity was offered by the Hungarian government's Carpathian Basin Kindergarten Development Program.
The first step was to find a suitable location, which was purchased by the Association of Hungarian Teachers of Romania (RMPSZ), which implements several sub-programs of the Carpathian Basin Kindergarten Development Program, including green field investments, in Miklós Kovács Street. This lot has much more favorable properties, there is also the possibility of creating a yard and a playground behind the future building facing the street.
The construction plans for the investment have been completed, and they wanted to start the work earlier, but the issuance of the construction permit and the obtaining of the necessary approvals from the various authorities took longer than expected. Zsolt Butyka , the process is nearing its end, so the start order can be issued in September. The intention is to finish the construction that started this year next summer, so that the new kindergarten would welcome the children in the school year starting next fall.
The new building can provide space for three kindergarten and daycare groups, 60 children, and at the same time, the institution will also have a dining room, warming kitchen, and medical room. The city manager previously explained that he considers it important that a daycare center also operates in Tusnádfürdő, as it is currently lacking, but there is a demand for it. Since there are currently not as many preschool-age children in the city as the new educational institution can accommodate, they expect that young families will move home, but the locals will not move.
