Magyar Posta bought 40 electrically powered closed freight vehicles, ITE Bus&Truck Kft., a subsidiary of ITK Holding Zrt., which won the invitation tender, will deliver 20 Mercedes-Benz eVito and 20 Mercedes-Benz eSprinter vehicles to the company, Magyar Posta announced on Monday with MTI.

According to the information, the total value of the winning bid of the 40 vehicles is close to HUF 700 million. The vehicles will be delivered to Magyar Posta by August 31, 2022. The new electric vehicles can travel more than 130 kilometers on a single charge, and their cargo space is suitable for the transport of packages, they write in the announcement. They emphasized that Magyar Posta Zrt. took an important step for environmental protection with this purchase, as it almost doubled the number of green vehicles in its fleet of around 5,000 vehicles. With the current purchase, the existing 44 electric vehicle stock will be expanded to 84.

The 40 new vehicles are in service in Miskolc, Tatabány, Szolnok and Budapest, and will replace some of Magyar Posta Zrt.'s 17-year-old Volkswagen Transporter T5 vehicles, Magyar Posta announced.
