The Financial Times analyzed European gas prices in a long article. The British newspaper found that the average price of electricity for British households is at least 30 percent higher than in many of its European neighbors. They added that this is because the country relies more heavily on natural gas for energy production, and this is hitting consumers hard.
Hungary was also discussed. The paper noted that household gas costs are by far the lowest in Hungary.
They explained that despite criticism from other EU members of his relationship with Moscow, Prime Minister Viktor Orbán has struck a number of deals with Russia that provide lower-priced gas deliveries.
