This was announced by Germany's Minister for European Affairs, Anna Lührmann.

Germany's Minister for European Affairs gave an interview to Euronews . He stated: Berlin would support the removal of our country's right of veto in the European Union. The Green Party minister blamed Hungary for the current situation.

On Tuesday, the ministers debated in the General Affairs Council, the main topic being whether there are any member states that lose their veto on foreign policy and security issues.

"Unanimous EU decision-making in foreign policy and security matters should definitely be abolished," said the German politician, who said that " Hungary has already blocked council decisions several times with its sole veto ."

According to him, in order to take more effective action against Russia, the right of veto should be taken away from certain member states. This is where the politician raised our country.

Germany also supports the European Commission's proposal of sanctions against Hungary in the rule of law procedure," he stated, then continued by saying that this step could also serve as a warning to other member states.
