The Christian communities are not alone, they can count on the help of the government all over the Carpathian basin, said the State Secretary of the Prime Minister's Office responsible for church and ethnic relations in Budapest on Saturday.

Miklós Soltész the XIII. At the handover of the renovated community hall of the Rokolya Street church in the district, he said: in the past ten years, more than 1,500 parishes and church community houses have been renovated.

The communities that use them can live as islands, but they can strengthen the nation, Christianity and humanity with their prayers and the preservation of Christianity, emphasized the state secretary.

Miklós Soltész thanked the Rokolya utca parish community for always preserving their faith and Catholic religion , including when their community hall was taken away from them in the 1950s.

The state secretary pointed out that the Virgin Mary is particularly important in the life of the Help of Mary Christians parish. He noted: Friday was the anniversary of the Battle of Lepanto, in which the Christian troops asked for the help of the Virgin Mary to defeat the Turkish armies. The entire Christian world attributed their victory to the intercession of Mary, so since then the feast of Mary has been the anniversary of the battle.

He added: the feast of Our Lady of Hungarians on October 8 is at least as important to the Hungarian nation.

The renovated community hall was blessed by Cardinal Péter Erdő, Archbishop of Esztergom-Budapest. The cardinal expressed his hope that the hall will benefit the parish and the Catholic community living in the area.
