On behalf of the Polish Institute in Budapest, I cordially invite you to the screening of Ferenc Zajti's movie Hitchhiking to Freedom, which will take place on October 20, 2022 (Thursday) at 6:00 p.m. in the cinema hall of the Polish Institute (1065 Budapest, Nagymező u. 15).

Generations in Hungary still connect this concept with Poland today... The now aging age groups tell touching, uplifting, intangible and mystical stories, while the relationship between the two peoples expands through personal destinies, and the development and shaping of history can be seen in action. What could be the connecting element of the generations of Hungarian hitchhikers in Poland, which is still one of the unforgettable experiences of their lives to this day? The documentary "Hitchhiking towards freedom" seeks the answer to this question.

After the screening of the film, the director and the following famous guests will talk about the era: Alexa Károly, Lőrinc Csernyus, Ákos Engelmayer, Csaba Kis Gy., István Márta, Sándor Novobáczky, András Péterffy, Péter Vékás.

The event is free, but registration is required. Please indicate your intention to participate at the following link: https://forms.gle/oig4SV1S7r6KN3rdA
