By mistake, the national anthem of Nazi Germany was played in Jászberény when the mayor of Jobbik wanted to honor the leader of the sister city

According to the report of the local South Korean politician, a member of the German delegation put an end to "Deutschland, Deutschland über alles" by making a firm hand gesture to stop playing.

"The German guests were greeted with a Nazi song at the town hall," shared the news on his Facebook page on Wednesday, József Gedei, local government representative from DK.

The city has recently been in the news, as the representative body led by Jobbik disbanded the other day at the initiative of the DK. That is why at first it was not possible to know whether the above news was about an opposition civil war, but on Wednesday afternoon the mayor of Jobbik, Lóránt Budai, admitted that the "unpleasant incident" had indeed happened.

But how does the German guest of honor get to Jászberény? Andreas Michalowski, as the mayor of Vechta in Germany, came to the city with a delegation,

where Jobbik mayor Lóránt Budai and MSZP deputy mayor Béla Balogh recognized his selfless work for twin city relations with the Jászberény City Honorary Citizen Award in a ceremony.

József Gedei's post reveals that the presenter first greeted the audience and then called on them to sing the national anthems of the two countries.

However, after the Hungarian sang, the text of the official German national anthem was not played, but "Deutschland, Deutschland über alles" (Germany above all), the first verse of the original national anthem, which was the national anthem of the German Empire until the fall of the Nazis. The representative added that one of the members of the visiting delegation then stepped forward and signaled with a firm hand gesture to end the playback.

“Of course, it was all accidental and I apologized. I think the evening continued in a way that served to strengthen our friendship," Lóránt Budai declared, but according to Gedei, "this is a very serious city diplomatic mistake."

In any case, the mayor added to the news portal that the person responsible was found, and the case was not left without consequences.
