My vocation is to make the most of my talent and bring glory to my country. It is necessary to deal with the support of talents. Áron Szilágyi visited Rome and the Vatican organized by the National Talent Center, where he was also received by Pope Francis.

With the screening of the documentary One for Everyone, with Áron Szilágyi as the main character, the Hungarian and Italian audiences in Rome were able to glimpse into the fencing career of the three-time Olympic and two-time world champion, and were able to greet him personally at the Falconieri Palace of the Collegium Hungaricum. The star of Hungarian sport gave an interview to the Hungarian Nation after the event.

I was not primarily connected to Pope Francis through faith, for me he is one of the most important spiritual and religious leaders in the world, whose voice moves the masses and thus can influence processes in the world. For me, it was a great experience to see that even when ten thousand people surrounded him, he was still a smiling, natural person who welcomed the faithful with great joy and pleasure at the audience. I was lucky enough to exchange a few words with Pope Francis personally, I am glad that there are such outstanding religious leaders who have a positive impact on the world.

In his short speech, he spoke about the fact that we should not see the negatives, but notice the everyday miracles, especially in the family and in relationships. As a newly married five-year-old, I felt this was very relevant and important advice. This message came at the right time and in the right place, I will try to make it my own in the coming period.

I can bring the most joy and glory to the Hungarian people and my country in Pášt. I am working to keep it that way. The next two years will be about the preparations for the Paris Olympics. I also want to reach the highest peak at the five-hoop games to be held in France. I strive to make this happen, not only as an individual, but also as a team, since the team is even closer to the people, it is even more of a national success. It is still uncertain in what field I will try to use my knowledge and experience after my active career.

In connection with the film screening held at the Collegium Hungaricum in Rome, we visited a workshop of the Sant Egidio Catholic organization, where disabled and disadvantaged young people are given the opportunity to develop in the visual arts. This is a very well-functioning program, and their exhibition was also opened in the building of the Collegium Hungaricum. It was nice to experience the joy and happiness with which these young people were able to talk about their own artistic development and how much the organization helps them to live a full life. In addition, we also visited a smaller fencing club whose purpose is to search for talents. I had the opportunity to talk with members of the Hungarian community during the Wednesday evening film screening held at the Collegium Hungaricum, and I was very pleased with the warm welcome.

As athletes, our mission is to give a little energy, a little ammunition for everyday life to the people who sit down in front of the television screen, follow us on the Internet or on the radio, with our achieved successes. After all, when I win an Olympic gold medal, they are happy that our country has such a son.

I feel that this is my role in society. On the other hand, I am happy to support a useful and valuable cause where I can help, be it the cause of the disadvantaged, sustainability or talent support, talent management.

A successful athlete can benefit society by putting his reputation next to noble goals. I try to find good causes where I can help, where my presence means support.
