The family is very important to 92 percent of Hungarians, which means that the Hungarian population is even more family-oriented than the Italian population, the Youth Research Institute of the Mathias Corvinus Collegium (MCC) announced, summarizing its own international survey.

In the announcement about the results of the research, sent to MTI on Friday, it is stated: in the international survey of the youth research institute, the values of France, Italy, Germany, the United Kingdom and Hungary were examined. According to the results, considering the average of these countries, family is very important to 71 percent of people, and family is important to another 21 percent. The representative study, conducted by interviewing five to five thousand people per country, found:

Hungary stands out from the field, as 92 percent of Hungarians surveyed said that family is very important to them. With this, the Hungarians are ahead of the Italians, traditionally known for their family-centricity, 75 percent of whom called the family very important.

Based on the research, family is much more important than, for example, friends, work, free time, politics, religion or the nation, they concluded. They added: on the one hand, this highlights that the role of traditional communities is being valued in the age of epidemiological, economic and energy crises, and on the other hand, it refutes "the progressive spirit that aims to question the importance of the family".
