All signs point to the fact that György Soros, in addition to supporting the left, is also trying to influence Hungarian public opinion indirectly. The Civil College Foundation (CKA), which it supports, has just announced a four-month American scholarship program. The students associated with the CKA were previously trained by specialists of the American left on how to put pressure on the decision-makers at home.
The application deadline for the four-month American scholarship program announced by the Civil College Foundation (CKA), for which community leaders between the ages of 25 and 38 could apply, expired yesterday. According to CKA's Facebook post, the scholarship covers four topics: environmental protection, peace and conflict resolution, transparency and accountability, and the issue of women and gender equality. The scholarship was offered by the International Research & Exchanges Board (IREX), whose main supporters include György Soros's foundation, the Open Society Foundations.
Over the years, CKA was supported by György Soros with more than two million dollars, while IREX was already supported by tens of thousands of dollars in 2016.
By the way, CKA has been present in Hungary since 1994. Previously, they also coordinated the Student Network (HaHa), whose members were present during the 2013 and 2014 attacks on the Fidesz headquarters in Lendvay Street and numerous demonstrations, bridge and campus occupations.
Based on the organization's internal correspondence, it was revealed that the HaHa activists were trained by professionals connected to the American left.
Among other things, the students received help in how to effectively exert pressure on decision-makers. The CKA launched the so-called "Clean Voting Campaign" "for the purity of the 2022 election and to educate the voters" with TASZ, which also belongs to the Soros network, Political Capital and the Voice, which conducts the left-liberal primaries. Incidentally, one of the founders of the latter is none other than Máté Varga, the president of the Civil College Foundation.
In addition to the indirect support of the left-wing parties, the American billionaire is also trying to influence the public mood in Hungary in an indirect way: by means of grants to civil organizations and overseas training. The Facebook posts of the CKA announcing the American scholarship, for example, testify that they, along with the Democratic Coalition and the Soros-linked Amnesty International, participated in the organization of teacher demonstrations.
2022plus: In the meantime, Gergely Karácsony decorated the Margit bridge with the flags of NGOs supported by Soros and active in organizing teacher demonstrations. As he writes in his Facebook post: "How do you like the flags on Margaret Bridge? Instead of threats and blackmail, respect and solidarity: this is what we owe our teachers . On March 15, Bezzeg did not display the national flags on Margit Bridge.
