The President of the National Assembly called the Kurultaj a message and example for all Western and Eastern peoples on Saturday at the opening of the event in Bugac.

The Kurultaj tradition preservation event is not only a celebration of the Hun and Turkic peoples, but also a message and example for all Western and Eastern peoples, from which everyone can draw wisdom and self-confidence, said László Kövér.

Sometimes the East, other times the West "bited us" in the last thousand years. This is how we were raised to live, that is why we are still strong and vital today, he said.

László Kövér also spoke about how Hungarians from the east and the west tried to force them to give up their culture from the other world, to deny their roots.

The Hungarians have always wanted to connect the East and the West, rather than deny it

- said the Speaker, referring to the fact that this is why the ferry country was named Hungary.

The true purpose of the ferry: to be in motion and to connect coasts, skies, cultures and interests. The fate of self-confident Hungarians is "happiness on the road"; to connect the East and the West in eternal motion - he emphasized.

László Kövér added: the Hungarians would like to be a bridge, a fruitful transit zone for all countries and peoples belonging to different civilizations but respecting each other.

When the East and the West faced each other, decline, if they cooperated, brought Hungarians a chance to rise, he added.
