The "fact-checking" team that grew out of 444 portals, which became known as Litmus and was supported by György Soros, tried to cast doubt on the experience of the authorities and the position of the Hungarian government on arms deliveries to Ukraine, but the refutation came directly from Finland.
Litmus was created even before the parliamentary elections, with considerable financial support from the European Commission, but during its fact-checking work it is only busy attacking the governing parties.
The fact-checkers of György Soros wanted to attack the government, but it turned out that Litmus, which was supported by significant amounts from Brussels and recruited from its 444 team, published false information when in its October report it cast doubt on the information of the V4NA news agency that the arms shipments to Ukraine went to the black market instead of the front. .
Later, the "fact-finding" article of the left-wing portal was also adopted by the National Association of Hungarian Journalists (MÚOSZ).
Lakmusz also dealt in detail with the articles published in the Magyar Nemzet, which dealt with the topic of arms shipments to Ukraine falling into unauthorized hands, but the fact checkers supported by the European Commission with millions, who consider themselves independent, did not address the fact that NATO and the EU had issued an alert. due to the threat of arms smuggling in Ukraine, and the countries concerned have been urged to pay closer attention to the route of arms shipments, as firearms and explosives may fall into unauthorized hands.
Already in the summer, Interpol and Europol drew attention to the fact that the weapons sent to Ukraine could end up on the black market. Police officials from some countries, such as Sweden, also spoke about the danger posed by the arms trade originating from Ukraine. And Interpol warned in June that weapons sent to Ukraine could end up in the hands of European criminals, and that organized crime groups would grow stronger as the weapons became available. And the United States Department of State announced in the past few days that they will carry out increased checks to track the weapons delivered to Ukraine. Recently, the head of the Finnish National Investigation Agency, Christer Ahlgren, warned in an interview that weapons intended for Ukraine may have appeared in Sweden, Denmark and the Netherlands, and that the necessary smuggling routes have already been established. The head of the authority indicated: they see signs that these weapons have already appeared in Finland. Furthermore, he emphasized that they will have to deal with these weapons for decades, and according to him, the decision-makers forgot that the war in Ukraine also increased the workload of the police.
Speaking of Litmus, it should be noted that the European Commission previously spent a significant amount of HUF 120 million just before the Hungarian elections to launch the "fact-checking" portal, which during the campaign period almost exclusively published articles trying to refute the claims of the governing parties.
It is known about 444 that the Media Development Investment Fund (MDIF) appeared as an investor behind its publisher after its launch, one of whose main supporters is the network of György Soros Open Society Foundations, which is also among the donors of Direkt36. And the editor-in-chief of Lakmusz is Blanka Zöldi, who also works for 444 and Direkt36, as the entire team of authors consists exclusively of employees of the left-liberal press. In their articles, they typically attack the government and the right-wing,
the dubious affairs of the left regularly disappear from the radar of fact-checkers.
