In a Facebook post, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó congratulated the American Republicans whom Hungary considers friends and who won the by-election.
"Hungary's friends all won in the American midterm elections. Mike Crapo, Adrian Smith, Mike Kelly and Mike Waltz firmly stood up for our country when the Biden administration canceled the bilateral tax agreement in response to the fact that the Hungarian government did not want to raise taxes.
Our friends assured me that if the Republican majority returns, they will also restore tax cooperation between the two countries. Congratulation!"
