Prime Minister Viktor Orbán and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan held bilateral talks in Samarkand, Uzbekistan, on Friday, Bertalan Havasi, the prime minister's press chief, informed MTI.

According to his announcement, the two leaders assessed the summit meeting of the Turkish states in Samarkand as a success.

Viktor Orbán said about Hungarian-Turkish relations:

they do not give up their common goals even during the war crisis.

We are committed to the strengthening of bilateral trade and economic relations, we will continue and we can also extend the cooperation in the military industry to new areas - emphasized the Prime Minister.

President Erdogan stated at the hearing:

Turkey will remain a reliable background for Hungary's energy security in the future.

Regarding the war in Ukraine, the two leaders agreed that a cease-fire, negotiations and peace are needed as soon as possible.
