Hungary is a country neighboring Ukraine. That is why the war in Ukraine and the Russian attack directly affect Hungarians, said President Katalin Novák in Paris, at the international peace forum .
The President of the Republic emphasized that she is not only the president, but also the mother of three children, and therefore she thinks that we must preserve Europe as an area of peace for future generations. That is why we must do everything we can to restore peace in Europe. Katalin Novák emphasized that when she was elected six months ago, she clearly condemned the Russian attack. He added: the current situation is very complicated and we don't even know exactly how to restore peace, but that is exactly why they are here.
In Paris, Katalin Novák held special talks with the President of Georgia, Salome Zourabichvili, the President of Switzerland, Ignazio Cassis, and Stevo Pendarovski, the President of North Macedonia. He also spoke with former French President Nicolas Sarkozy and consulted with Audrey Azoulay, Director General of UNESCO. He met Gérard Larcher, the president of the French Senate, and viewed the works of Hungarian artists with Pierre Vasarely.
The President of the Republic gave a lecture at the Institut de Philosophie Comparée, where she said in her speech that she considers herself a conservative but modern woman and a Christian. Because he is a Christian, he knows what is eternal, what does not change. But he also knows what is changing. That's why it's modern. Because he knows how to respond to the changing challenges of the times. The challenges change, just like the answers.
