The so-called advertising tender case will cause a loss of revenue of nearly 3.5 billion HUF in the capital's public transport budget until the end of 2022 due to the left-wing leadership in the capital. Gergely Karácsony prevented the victory of one of the applicants of the BKV advertising tender three years ago. However, the company with a French background no longer kept its original offer during the coronavirus epidemic, and later, even though the city administration tried in vain to sign the contract, JCDecaux backed out of the deal, reports Magyar Nemzet .
"Unfortunately, we have drawn Gergely Karácsony's attention more than once and not twice in recent years to the fact that he caused serious losses to the capital with the illegally cut advertising tender," emphasized Zsolt Wintermantel, the head of the Fidesz-KDNP faction in the capital, when contacted by the newspaper.
At the time, press reports also highlighted that the offer of the French company was not only valid, but also received a particularly high score during the evaluation, but this turned out to be insufficient. Because of the incident, BKV was even fined HUF 120 million. The capital wanted to dance back into the business after a year, that is, it would still have brought the concession under the roof. However, the company that submitted a valid offer withdrew citing the crisis caused by the pandemic. According to Világgazdaság, as a result, public transport in Budapest will fall by several billion forints.
Zsolt Wintermantel told Magyar Nemzet that he can no longer think of anything other than that the mayor intentionally caused damage to the people of Budapest, since years have passed and he has not announced another procedure for the sale of BKV advertising surfaces.
The mayor's inaction has now caused a HUF 3.5 billion loss to Budapest, and with this money, BKV could have bought more than thirty new buses of its own, or four new CAF trams, and it would not have to close the cogwheel, or it could have lit up Budapest for the holidays .
- pointed out the faction leader. He added: let's not even talk about the possibility of the near-bankruptcy situations that Karácsony constantly threatens, unless the mayor's goal is to deliberately bankrupt the capital during the local government election campaign starting next year.
