According to the head of the European Parliament delegation of Fidesz, the left wants to ensure that Brussels takes EU funds from Hungary once and for all.
In a video statement sent to MTI on Thursday, Tamás Deutsch responded to a press conference held in Brussels on the same day, at which, according to him, "at the behest of the Hungarian left" their European "leftist and far-left comrades" announced that the left's only political goal is to prevent Hungary from accessing it under any circumstances. to European Union funds due to him.
"So the situation is clear and unambiguous: The Hungarian and the European left definitely want to punish Hungary," assessed the Fidesz politician.
He emphasized that it does not matter to the left what commitments Hungary made in agreement with the European Commission in order to settle the so-called rule of law problems invented by them and based on net lies, and that they were fulfilled on time and in full.
It was the left who demanded that Hungary take steps in this area, and now it turns out that the whole thing was actually a stale political play, he noted.
According to him, they definitely want to punish Hungary because the Hungarian citizens decided of their own free will not to ask for the left-wing party in the fourth consecutive parliamentary election.
As he said, the Hungarian left, "from Gyurcsányné to Újhely to Katalin Cseh", is moving every stone to dig against its own country . He accused the politicians of the Hungarian left of "making up the biggest lies", "telling these to their European comrades", and now they are also the ones ordering the torpedoing of the agreement between the European Commission and Hungary.
He said: in the spirit of political warfare against Hungary, the left will initiate another European Parliament debate on Hungary next week and they will adopt another European Parliament resolution condemning our country, based on lies that have been known for years, in which they call on the European Commission not to agree with Hungary, and do not disburse EU development funds.

At their press conference in Brussels on Thursday, the members of the European Parliament dealing with the rule of law criteria assessed that the Hungarian measures taken to eliminate violations of the rule of law were inadequate.
Petri Sarvamaa, the Finnish representative of the European People's Party, said at the press conference that the European Commission interpreted its task "very narrowly" when it objected to specific Hungarian corruption cases and conflicts of interest in relation to public procurement. In his opinion, this is just a slice of the rule of law problems in Hungary. As he said, it is possible that Hungary has now started to move in the right direction, but in relation to the 17 measures proposed by the Hungarian government, "which they managed to quickly push through the Hungarian parliament", the conclusion cannot yet be drawn that the rule of law has been restored in Hungary.
