Hungary - together with Poland - has reached the top of the EU growth ranking despite the fact that it has not yet received the recovery funds, Finance Minister Mihály Varga announced on his Facebook page yesterday.

Referring to the CSO's data release on Tuesday, the Minister of Finance stated: the Hungarian GDP figure was the fifth highest among the European Union countries, and the Polish growth was the fourth. The economic performance of both countries far exceeded the EU average of 2.4 percent, the graph published by Mihály Varga shows.

In the third quarter, the Hungarian gross domestic product (GDP) rose by 4.1 percent compared to the same period of the previous year, based on seasonally and calendar-adjusted and balanced data.
