They can return to Hungary from the diaspora at any time, because Hungary is the home of all Hungarians, Deputy Prime Minister Zsolt Semjén said on Thursday, the Hungarian Diaspora Council XI. at its meeting.

Zsolt Semjén emphasized that since 2010, Hungary has had a well-thought-out Hungarian national policy, where there are no A- or B-category citizens. He reported that the survival of the Hungarian nation also depends on the survival of the Hungarian diaspora. Its disappearance would undermine the universal Hungarian nation. Therefore, the Hungarian government provides all assistance to support institutions and individuals operating in the diaspora.

Zsolt Semjén reported that the Hungarian diaspora was created as a result of specific historical events: from the masses of Hungarians who were forced to emigrate. He reminded that the communists hated the members of the emigration from the bottom of their hearts and considered them their enemies. Even after the regime change - although everyone could return home then - neglect was typical, as Hungarian politics at that time was primarily concerned with the national political relations in the Carpathian Basin.

He emphasized that the countries that have accepted Hungarians can be grateful, because the Hungarians' work, diligence and talent have greatly enriched them.

He said that the Hungarian government is working to make Hungary the home of all Hungarians. For this, the Hungarian state also helps people living in the diaspora with a number of scholarship and maternity support programs. Zsolt Semjén said that in cooperation with the Minister of Culture and Innovation, János Csák, they are creating a new scholarship program for the young people of the diaspora.

He emphasized that diaspora organizations are Hungarian "camps", which represent the expansion of Hungarian life and relationship systems.

Zsolt Semjén pointed out that at Thursday's government meeting, they decided to create a "Welcome-office", the task of which will be to enable Hungarians living in the diaspora to manage their affairs and naturalize their documents there. He emphasized that those living in the diaspora can return to Hungary at any time, because Hungary is the home of all Hungarians.
