In December, in addition to extending the sanctions, whether to extend the existing ones will also be on the agenda. There are two camps in the union, one pro-war and the other pro-peace. Those who are on the side of the war want more sanctions, while those who are in favor of peace demand a ceasefire. It would have tragic consequences for Hungary if the European Union were to extend the sanctions against Russia to gas and nuclear energy, so we must be exempted from such a decision - emphasized Prime Minister Viktor Orbán on Kossuth radio Good morning, Hungary! in his show on Friday. The Prime Minister emphasized: the sanctions did not bring us one millimeter closer to the end of the war.

The introduction of sanctions did not end the war, and we did not even get closer to the end of the war, but they caused serious problems for the EU countries - said Prime Minister Viktor Orbán on Kossuth Rádió Good morning, Hungary! in his show.

We are facing a difficult winter, and meanwhile Russian revenues are at an extra height, so they will be able to continue the war, said the prime minister.

We cannot escape the price-inflating force of sanctions either

The most serious part of the sanctions will come into effect on Monday, December 5, but Hungary managed to get Russian oil in, so there is no need to expect a supply shortage.

"The problem is the price, because we cannot remove ourselves from the price-inflating power of the sanctions, so we are waiting to see what effect the entry into force of the ninth sanctions package will have on prices," added the prime minister.

In December, in addition to extending the sanctions, whether to extend the existing ones will also be on the agenda. There are two camps in the union, one pro-war and the other pro-peace. Those who are on the side of the war want new sanctions, while those in favor of peace demand a cease-fire, emphasized Viktor Orbán. In the matter of maintaining the sanctions, Europe must take into account what this means for it economically.

Europe is now lost and wandering

Viktor Orbán added: as Emmanuel Macron also said, it is not friendship that the Americans sell gas at four times the price, which shows that Europe is now lost and wandering. Until now, the model has been that the Russians provide energy carriers, while we provide technology. The majority of the EU, especially the "big boys", pushed for the abolition of this model.

The question is what will replace it, what is the new European economic strategy

Viktor Orbán pointed out. Substitution with American energy sources is more expensive, which causes the price of everything to rise, this is the sanction surcharge, because if the price of energy rises, the price of everything rises. During the liquidation of the previous economic model, they never said what the next model would be, no one gave an answer to that.

Hungary cannot do anything else, cannot wait for others, we must build a new economic model ourselves

said the prime minister.

They gave rolling dollars to the left

Viktor Orbán said about the recovery plan that we have taken a step forward. As he said, after a year and a half, the European Commission accepted the recovery plan. He added: this money comes from joint borrowing, which would have helped the economic recovery from the coronavirus epidemic, and the point was that it would have arrived quickly. As the prime minister said, these funds were not given due to political disagreements, instead rolling dollars were given to the left.

The Prime Minister put it this way: the EU committee had 17 requests, and we did them.
The Prime Minister thanked those working on the draft. As the Prime Minister said, by now there are not only 17, but also 19 and 20 requests, but as Viktor Orbán, who knows Brussels, said, new conditions are always imposed, but we must strive for an agreement with them.

They want us to allow migrants and sexual propaganda into school and to support the war, but we will not do that, the prime minister underlined.

According to the EU, it should give Ukraine 18 billion euros annually

Viktor Orbán also talked about the financing of Ukraine. The prime minister said that due to the war, Ukraine was in a situation where it could not operate itself. that is, it cannot pay public employees, it cannot pay pensions. If there was no war, but peace, then financing would not be a problem. However, the question is how to help Ukraine, Viktor Orbán added.

One is to use the budgets of the EU member states and take out a joint loan - the Hungarian government does not support this, because it would create a joint debt that even our grandchildren will complain about.

The other option: do not mix the amounts of the EU budget with the amounts intended for Ukraine. The money for this must be allocated to each member state - the Hungarian government has already done this, and at the same time supports this option.

A global minimum tax is a job-killing idea. If introduced, it would eliminate tens of thousands of jobs. The voters love democracy precisely because they can say what kind of government should come to power and what kind of tax policy it should pursue. The issue of taxes is national, not global.

We lose at least 10 billion euros a year due to price increases

The price of the energy arriving in Hungary in 2021 was 7 billion euros, this year it became 17 billion and may go higher. We lose at least 10 billion euros per year due to price increases, which could be used to raise wages and cover other expenses. The budget has to deal with this situation, the next year's budget is now being re-planned. The economy must be prevented from falling into recession.

Thanks to the reduction in utilities, Hungarian families will receive HUF 181,000 in monthly support

Thanks to the utility reduction, every Hungarian family will receive HUF 181,000 a month in support. Many millions of families would be in a hopeless situation if this were not the case. It is very important that the overhead protection fund has as many resources as possible in the next period.

Historically, migration is the biggest challenge

Regarding migration, the Prime Minister said: the situation is getting worse, people on both sides of the border are suffering because of this. The Serbs, the Austrians and we saw clearly that we could not defend this border any better, so the defense lines had to be pushed further south, all the way to the southern border of Serbia. We are now collecting money, people and equipment so that we can protect our security in Serbian territory. The good news is that at the V4 summit in Kassa, all members offered their help in implementing this plan.

Energy is the biggest problem for people, but historically migration is the biggest challenge. Brussels wants to oblige us to let migrants in, which is why they also support the domestic dollar left. In addition to economic difficulties and issues, there is such a more hidden historical challenge caused by migration and its resistance.
