As of August 1 of this year, the  utility reduction and average consumption remained in their original form. The bandwidth limit for electricity is 210 kW per month, and 144 cubic meters for gas. This means 2,523 kWh of electricity and 1,729 cubic meters of gas annually. A significant number of households will not be affected by the change - the press department of the Minister of Economic Development explained to Magyar Nemzet. It is important that households do not have to pay a market amount on top of the average consumption, as the government has introduced the so-called residential market price, which is well below the competitive market price.

Residential market energy prices are as follows: for electricity up to 2,523 kilowatt-hours/year consumption, HUF 36/kWh, and after exceeding the limit, HUF 70.1/kilowatt-hour. For night electricity, the discount price is HUF 23, while above it is HUF 62.9 (the competitive market price was HUF 268.9). In the case of natural gas, the discounted tariff is up to 1,729 cubic meters, here the price per cubic meter is HUF 102, in the case of consumption over the limit it is HUF 747/cubic meter (the market price, on the other hand, was HUF 1,020).

Thanks to the utility reduction, Hungarian families save an average of HUF 181,000 per month.

The price caps valid for certain foods since the fall of 2021 are now helping. The price regulation covers the following products, the price of which cannot be higher than the price on October 15, 2021: granulated sugar, fine wheat flour (BL 55), refined sunflower cooking oil, home-made pork leg, chicken breast, chicken leg-back, chicken back, chicken tail, chicken wing tip , cow's milk heat-treated at an ultra-high temperature, with a fat content of 2.8 percent.

This November, the government expanded the list. The price restriction already applies to hen's eggs and table potatoes, while it also applies to the previously indicated products unchanged until December 31, 2022. The price of the two new products cannot be higher than the price on September 30, 2022.
