Karácsony would raise the official cemetery prices by nearly 20 percent. Although the Metropolitan Elderly Council protested, it was not taken into account. The commenters are really freaking out.

The municipal government of the capital will increase the official fees for funerals by 17 percent starting next January, if the general assembly votes on the proposal in a week's time, wrote Metropol.

The members of the Metropolitan Council for the Elderly clearly rejected the increase in funeral fees , Zsófia Hassay, the representative of the Fidesz-KDNP in the capital, who is also a member of the said body, told Magyar Nemzet The politician reacted to the fact that Deputy Mayor Ambrus Kiss recently announced that they should touch the official cemetery prices, which have been unchanged for many years. Ambrus Kiss also said that a proposal for this had already been prepared, which was before the Metropolitan Elderly Council.

Zsófia Hassay emphasized: at the last meeting, everyone rejected the increase, and council members also protested in this regard. The representative said that according to the proposal, the official funeral prices would be increased by more than twenty percent. He added that the poorer people are provided with a HUF 20,000 discount, but this basic package only includes cremation at the Új public cemetery.

Tempers quickly ran wild on Facebook. Most of them expressed their displeasure under the article of the former indexers' blog.

"Since they have been 'leading' Budapest, they have announced every week that the capital will go bankrupt tomorrow," stated Pál.

"Perhaps we should not take back the channeling disguised under Demszky now," László wrote.

"During the time of Tarlós, the old socialist leadership made 180 billion government bond savings out of the 150 billion operating loan... As well as P+R parking lots, renewed entire city center, interlacing tram network, electric delivery to Etele tér, Liget project, renewal of the zoo, renewal of main roads, preparation of several projects, etc... Now start listing the investments that have been made since 19... But tell me something that Tarlós has not yet prepared! You can't," said Andris.

"The hole in the pit became more expensive..." Mihály quipped.

Zoltán was also not let down by black humor: "Those who may die this year should not procrastinate!"

"Even dying is an expensive pastime..." Tomi raged.

The Gergelys of Karácsony wanted to raise the funeral fees two years ago, but this was not done because of the outrage.
