Many hundreds of people sang together at the charity concert organized at the St. Stephen's Basilica in Budapest at the invitation of the Catholic Charity. Attila Dolhai's band MAGnificat's concert on December 18 was meant to make the Christmas of needy seniors and families more beautiful.

On November 27, Catholic Charity launched its Advent aid program with the motto "Explore your hearts". "So that there is plenty on the festive table for everyone, we are collecting to feed the elderly, the homeless, and families, and we would like the help not to end at Christmas," said Gábor Écsy, national director of Catholic Charity, to the hundreds of participants of the charity concert organized in St. Stephen's Basilica .

In addition to the festive table, they also want to ensure that people can spend warm days in their homes, not only during the holidays. This is how they continued to donate stoves and provide firewood as part of the Home Warmth program.

"The holiday is near, let music fill your hearts. Have a joyful, peaceful and happy Christmas!”

The band of the charity concert, MAGnificat, owes its birth to the pandemic. Attila Lambert - a staff member of Magyar Kurír és Új Ember - is not only a passionate photographer, he is also passionate about music. The formation was founded on his initiative, and for the first time, Attila Dolhai and Mónika Varga performed a musical service during the period of online Masses in the church in Kistarcsa. With the addition of fellow musicians, we were able to meet them at the NEK prayer evening, where the interested people filled the University Church to capacity, they gave a charity concert in Szombathely in the Székesegyház, and several prayer evenings were held in Budapest churches.

"The mission of MAGnificat is to convey God's message to people through light music.

Therefore, singing and music are not concerts, we encourage you to get involved, we invite you to pray together. We wish you a Christmas full of miracles", said actor and musical singer Attila Dolhai.

After the concert, Richárd Zagyva, the deputy director of the aid organization, encouraged us to light a candle and say a prayer. On the steps of the basilica this evening, a heart made of candlesticks was meant to announce: there is hope in every situation.
