"It's good to have you here with us!" Come on, Szolnok! - greeted László Miskolczi, president of Momentum, on his social media page. Ferencs Gelencsér did not fail to emphasize that the Szolnok municipal representative was certified by the DK.

In recent weeks, a lot of politicians of moment have joined the Gyurcsánys, and Momentum is trying to counter this.

As the press has already reported, the Gelencsérs lost their positions to the Gyurcsány party one after another, and the current confirmation in Szolnok does not seem to be a real reinforcement either.

In 2019, László Miskolczi entered the Szolnok general assembly on the left-wing compensation list, and then became deputy mayor in the county seat. After three years, he was replaced from his position on a left-wing initiative.

It is worth recalling that in Szolnok, a left-wing majority was formed in the representative body, while Ferenc Szalay from Fidesz remained the mayor. As was typical throughout the country, the left-wing majority quickly collapsed here as well, which led to the replacement of Miskolczi, who has now been confirmed to Momentum.

After the general assembly in Szolnok at the end of April, our newspaper also reported that the replacement of the DK deputy mayor was initiated by the leader of the local Momentum, Éva Bóka.

At this board meeting, the current local government representative seriously criticized the activities of the deputy mayor responsible for city operations in recent years, and also explained that there is no unity, trust, or humility in the Szolnok opposition.

In the end, 11 people voted in favor of replacing László Miskolczi, out of the 18-person board, and the fact that, according to Magyar Narancs information, he was also fired from DK a few days earlier, because they were not satisfied with his performance in the campaign, is just icing on the cake.

For the time being, it is questionable how the failed deputy mayor will be able to help Momentum's work after such antecedents. It is certain that the local Momentum was left without a leader, because her party quickly distanced itself from Éva Bóka after she criticized the local left, and now she is not even listed as a moment politician on their website.

By the way, the Szolnok Plurality faction ceased to function as a true majority faction not only because four members left it, but also because one of the local DK representatives, Károly Fajcsák, resigned as an individual representative, which is why a by-election had to be held.

The election held at the end of June was then won by Gyula Menkó, a candidate supported by mayor Ferenc Szalay (Fidesz–KDNP) and launched by a local civil society organization, so the left-right ratio from 10-8 changed to 9-9.
