In a decree, Russian President Vladimir Putin proposed to the leadership of Moscow County, Crimea and Sevastopol that plots of land be distributed free of charge to the soldiers who earned merit in the war in Ukraine and the families of those killed.

The legislation on social support for soldiers and their family members, published on the official legal information portal on Monday, recommended that regional authorities adopt rules that provide free access to land in accordance with the relevant provisions of the Land Code.

Putin also signed a law on Monday that gives mobilized citizens rights to apply for their previous jobs if their employment is terminated due to their enlistment. The president also signed the law that set the minimum wage at 16,242 rubles (about ninety thousand forints at the current exchange rate) by 2023.

2022 plus:

You could say there is nothing new under the sun. In history, there have already been examples - more than once - of land being distributed to warriors. It even happened that war widows could even open a traffic shop, as compensation.

What is new, however, is that Putin's decree, in addition to Moscow County, also addresses the leadership of Crimea and Sevastopol to distribute plots of land free of charge among the soldiers who earned merit in the war in Ukraine and the families of the fallen. So Putin already knows something that is unknown to the American, European and Ukrainian leadership. Or who knows?
