The American government, together with the George Soros Foundation, the Rockefeller Foundation and others, wants to create a new media organization in Hungary called Internews in Hungary.

hirado.hu also reported that the new site of the old indexers, Telex, will receive HUF 300 million from the United States, and we also showed that they are financing a number of left-wing Hungarian media outlets from abroad.

Now, Origo , we have published a compilation about the latest initiative, the soon-to-be launched Internews. According to the portal, the money of American taxpayers and George Soros meet at this network.

80 percent of its resources come from America

The portal recalled that "The local voices. Internews, a medium operating under the motto "Global change", was established in 1982. In 1986, it was incorporated under US law as a "non-profit organization" in California under the name Internews Network. The European version of Internews was launched in 1995 and is headquartered in London. According to its own admission, the American network portal deals with "media development" in a number of countries.

According to Wikipedia, 80 percent of Internews' resources come from the United States government, but their reports show that supporters include the Open Society Foundation of George Soros, but also Google and Facebook, for example.

Hungary is not the only destination country

On November 5, 2022, the news appeared that "the American government - together with the George Soros Foundation, the Rockefeller Foundation and others - wants to establish a new media organization in Hungary called Internews in Hungary". The information was published on the website of the Independent News Agency (FüHü). Internews is a non-governmental organization founded in the United States to support the media. Hungary is not the only target country: Ukraine, Poland, Romania, Armenia and Georgia-Georgia are also included in the program, which aims to "create strong independent media".

The right-wing portal Breitbart also reported on the American effort, highlighting that the Soros Open Society Foundation, the Rockefeller Foundation and the Biden administration are financing an opposition media organization opening an office in Hungary. The information about the launch is also supported by the job advertisements on the Internews website, according to which the group is now "looking for employees for a project financed by the American government", the project's headquarters will be in Budapest.

They were looking for an editor-in-chief

On December 6, 2022, the Hungarian press reported that the media company Internews, which claims to be independent but is actually linked to the international left, is still looking for its editor-in-chief in Hungary. In the advertisement published on the social job search portal LinkedIn, it can be read that they want to find an editor-in-chief for a location in Budapest. Their ideal candidate was originally planned to be selected by October, but their advertisement was still active in early December.

Although "supporting independent media" is one of Internews's stated goals, experience shows that dollars tend to go to left-wing media in our country. Earlier, in 2016, Internews was also published in Hungary: in addition to the György Soros foundation, they also financed the website Direkt36. At the time, the project was three-part: in addition to Direkt 36, the blog associated with György Soros and Transparency International, financed by him, also took part in it.
