The European Commission's claim to the Court of Justice of the European Union regarding the Hungarian legislative package known as the Child Protection Act has been received, the EU court informed on Tuesday.

The Luxembourg-based court of the European Union stated: in the lawsuit filed by the European Commission against Hungary, which was received on Tuesday, it objects to the legislation ensuring stricter action against pedophile criminals, as well as the prohibitions and restrictions that, in order to protect children, deviate from the self-identity corresponding to their birth gender, they relate to gender reassignment and the promotion and/or representation of homosexuality.

The claim was entered in the court register under case number C-769/22, they said.
