The Windows 10 update released by Microsoft before the holidays hits computers in a second, Index reports.

The update of Windows 10 codenamed KB5021233, released on December 13, was not one of the most stable releases, because according to user feedback, it punishes computer users with the so-called blue death in many cases. The blue screen usually appears when the system can't start itself due to some error, and with the new update it has become a fairly common problem, reminds XDA Developers.

The problem appears to be caused by a mismatch between the system32 and hidparse.sys file versions in the system32/drivers folder. It's important to note that this only affects Windows 10 editions between 20H2 and 22H2, so for example those already using Windows 11 are completely safe. Fortunately, Microsoft already knows about the problem, and what's more, they are already working on fixing it, but until it is ready, they have also published a shorter guide on how to avoid the problem.
