Even during the war raging next door and the increasing migration pressure, Hungary's safety comes first! In 2022, the security of Hungary was the first priority for the government, in the matter of war we are advocating peace, and in the matter of migration the protection of Europe, the Parliamentary State Secretary of the Ministry of the Interior stated in a video statement on Monday.

In a video uploaded to the government's social media platform, Bence Rétvári talked about the fact that since 2015, the protection of Europe's southern border section has been provided almost entirely from Hungarian sources, and the pressure on the southern border section is increasing every year. While 46,000 people tried to cross the border two years ago, last year 122,000 and this year more than 260,000 illegal border crossing attempts were prevented by Hungarian police, soldiers and border hunters, he explained.

Bence Rétvári emphasized: Brussels' policy has not changed. New and new proposals that would encourage migration continue to come, he added. However, the protection of Hungary is important to the government, as we can see that people smugglers are becoming more and more aggressive, he pointed out. He added that the Hungarian southern border, which is heroically and calmly defended by the Hungarian police and Hungarian border guards, is often besieged with weapons and stabbing tools.

The state secretary pointed out that one of the biggest beneficiaries of illegal migration is human traffickers. Today, every ninth prisoner in Hungarian prisons is a human trafficker, and it is easy to see how these criminal organizations profit enormously from illegal migration. Even during the sanctions crisis, the government provides all resources for the protection of Hungary's southern border and the protection of the country's security. "Every day, we will fight for the security of Hungary, because for us, the security of Hungary is the most important," said the state secretary.
