The government will extend the village social security by two years, so that up to 10 million HUF non-refundable support for families raising children will be available until the end of 2024, announced the government commissioner responsible for the development of modern settlements in a video published on his Facebook page on Friday.

Alpár Gyopáros said: until December 31, 2024, the option of renovating and expanding existing real estate is available in 2,600 settlements, and in the same way, you can apply for the construction to help purchase real estate and modernize the purchased real estate.

The government commissioner drew attention to the fact that the list of affected settlements has changed. There are villages that have been removed from the list due to a significant increase in the number of inhabitants, but there are also new rural chocolate settlements, he said, emphasizing that it is worth getting informed based on the new list.

According to him, the state aid already means substantial support with one child, and up to ten million forints with three children, for which the previously subsidized loan is also available in the future. In addition, it is still possible to request a VAT refund, which can help families with up to five million forints, he said.

He added that the VAT refund is independent of having a child, i.e. it is a help to families thinking about renovating their houses in every rural chocolate settlement. According to the information of Alpár Gyopáros, through the village chocolate, the government has contributed to the creation of homes in the countryside for more than 36,600 families, worth almost HUF 200 billion.

There is a definite intention to further expand the current range of 1,200 settlements where population decline has stopped over the past three years, said the government commissioner.
