Romanians are worried about the proximity of the Russian Black Sea Fleet. US manufacturer Raytheon sends a $208 million bill in exchange for appeasement.

Right in the middle of the war in Ukraine, Europe's armament does not stop for a moment, and the Central and Eastern European countries have switched to a particularly high gear in the area of ​​military development. Of course, American arms manufacturers do best, business has taken off to such an extent that the lack of capacity is becoming the biggest problem.

Recently, one of the world's largest arms manufacturers, Raytheon Technologies, announced the conclusion of a contract for an order in Romania, which is enjoying its heyday anyway due to US arms shipments to Ukraine. The manufacturer of the well-known Javelin and Stinger missile systems supplies Bucharest with NSM CDS (Naval Strike Missile Coastal Defense System) defense missile systems worth 208 million dollars (roughly HUF 77 billion), with which Romania will strengthen its sea coast, should the Russian fleet come to mind in the event of an escalation of the war should continue in this direction.

Raytheon manufactures the weapon based on the development of the Norwegian Kongsberg, which - according to the promotional material of the designer - can destroy anything from light, less armored ships to giants with the strongest protection.

According to the plans, NSM systems will be installed on about 60 kilometers of the 244-kilometer Romanian coastline.
