Negotiations will start next week at the state public service companies, MÁV, Volán, Magyar Posta and state utilities about this year's salary arrangement, Napi.hu has learned .

According to his information, based on the wage agreement concluded in 2021, instead of the 5 percent wage increase planned for this year, the salaries of the affected employees may increase by an average of 15-16 percent.

The trade unions, the government and the company managers are striving for a quick agreement, so it is almost safe to say that even the January salaries already include a significantly larger wage increase than expected.

Due to inflation breaking historical records, the rise in prices in 2022 practically zeroed out three years of gross wage increases in real terms, so without the correction set on the agenda, the purchasing power of workers' wages would drop significantly.
