Cannabis-containing preparations may have a place in oncology therapy, but not as alternatives to traditional treatments, but as complementary and complementary remedies aimed at improving the quality of life of patients, Gábor Benyó told our newspaper. According to the oncologist, the cannabis derivative is also useful because it is a "many-in-one" drug, and therefore, during a broad professional and social consultation, he would support the medical use of cannabis in Hungary as well.
It is important to clarify: medical cannabis is basically an excellent product, but it is not a cure-all - pointed out oncologist Gábor Benyó in relation to cannabis, more commonly known as therapeutic preparations derived from the hemp plant, after Magyar Nemzet recently published an interview with molecular biologist József Horváth, cannabidiol and cannabigerol on the positive effects of extracts containing (CBD/CBG). According to the medical director of the Tábitha Children's Hospice House, cannabis-containing preparations can have a place in oncology therapy, but they should not be seen as alternatives to traditional treatments, but as complementary and complementary remedies aimed at improving the quality of life of patients.
- There is no doubt that preparations derived from cannabis can have positive effects in the body of a cancer patient - who is moody, depressed, anxious, lacks appetite, vomits and is constantly nauseous. And although there are separate medicines for these, the cannabis derivative is also excellent because it is a "five-in-one, many-in-one" medicine that improves well-being, gives euphoria, reduces depression, increases appetite, and also soothes nausea, explained the specialist.
In this regard, Gábor Benyó also referred to the report entitled Health effects of cannabis and cannabinoids: the current state of the evidence, published by the expert committee of the American National Academy of Sciences and the Academy of Engineering and Medical Sciences, in which it is stated that
cannabis and cannabinoids have also been shown to be effective in treating chronic pain, chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting, and muscle spasms in multiple sclerosis.
According to the oncologist, it is good news that more and more countries are recognizing the beneficial effects of the use of cannabinoids, which can be used to achieve truly excellent results in certain situations. As he said
in the course of a wide-ranging professional and social consultation, he would support the medical use of cannabis in Hungary as well as in two-thirds of the European Union member states, and for those who need it to have easier access to it.
- However, it must be accepted that there are diseases with a fatal outcome, so an alternative therapy in the case of a potentially incurable patient - who, due to his vulnerable situation, is open to any preparation that can help his recovery - can raise false hopes - he pointed out.
Civilians Info: We often reject the medical use of drugs outright, because the social danger of "intrusion" is very high and is spreading more and more. At the same time, there are certain drugs that have been used in medicine for a very long time - such are opium/cocaine derivatives. Therefore, it is probably worth introducing cannabis products to therapies and people, especially young people, should continue to be protected from illegal use, cultivation and production. Because their effect as a pleasure item is killer.
Snake venom can also be useful, biting less so!
