A Russian company is offering five million rubles (HUF 25.6 million) to the soldier who destroys or captures a Western tank destined for Ukraine, all after the Kremlin vowed that Russian forces would "sweep" Western tanks out of the war zone - drew the attention of the Reuters news agency.

The United States, Germany and several European countries are also preparing to give dozens of tanks to Kiev in the coming weeks, thus helping the striking ability of the Ukrainian army.

Moscow described the announcements as a "dangerous, escalation-increasing" step. Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov previously stated that "the tanks will be burning on the fronts".

The Russian company Fores is offering a cash payout to anyone who captures or destroys a German Leopard 2 or an American Abrams tank. They added that they would pay half a million rubles (2.5 million forints) for each further attack.

Experts expect that just as the delivery of the American HIMARS missile system to Ukraine has strengthened Kiev in the fighting, sending the tanks could give the war-torn country another boost. Although the tanks will not arrive at the front for several months, many believe that in the spring, Moscow may start intensive attacks again, during which, according to Western analysts, Kiev will already need the well-equipped, modern Western tanks.
