FCU 1948 Craiova punished itself, whose weekend football match against Sepsi OSK was suspended because the fans chanted anti-Hungarian rhymes.

According to the club's statement on Wednesday, the Kraiów team will play the domestic matches behind closed doors for an undetermined period of time. The management announced the decisions made within its competence in three points. Thus, the matches are played behind closed doors for an indefinite period of time, and the Romanian Football Association initiates the development of a regulation that prevents cases similar to the one at the weekend. In addition, they announced that they will inform their season ticket fans later on how they can get their money back.

According to a post published on the club's website, the "hooliganism" of some of their fans in Sepsiszentgyörgy caused enormous damage to the club, and there is a risk that these manifestations will be repeated, which is why they saw the need to make this decision.
The Romanian press reminded him that some of the Craiova fans are in conflict with club owner Adrian Mititelu.

On Sunday, after just 26 minutes, the referee Andrei Chivulete first interrupted and then blew off the Sepsi OSK-FCU 1948 Craiova top league match after a ten-minute forced break, as the fans of the away team chanted anti-Hungarian chants. It was the first time in Romania that a match was suspended due to racist and xenophobic chants. At the majority of the matches of Sepsi, which has a Hungarian ownership background, the away fans regularly shout anti-Hungarian rhymes.

The fate of the three points will be decided by the disciplinary committee of the Romanian Football Association.
