Despite the economic challenges, 78 percent of Hungarian business leaders do not plan to reduce their staff, and 97 percent do not plan to reduce the remuneration of employees in the next 12 months - the partner of PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) Hungary's tax consulting business explained the consulting company's recent survey at a press conference in Budapest on Wednesday.

Barbara Koncz announced that the 12th survey of Hungarian CEOs conducted by PWC - in which 267 company managers were involved between October and early December 2022 - also revealed that companies primarily strive to optimize their operations.

As an example, he mentioned that 61 percent of the respondents indicated that they had already reduced their operating costs, 57 percent had increased the prices of their products and services, and 43 percent had expanded the range of their products and services.

Tamás Lőcsei, CEO of PwC Hungary, said that 76 percent of Hungarian business leaders expect the global economy to slow, and 85 percent of the Hungarian economy; In Hungary, an average GDP increase of 0.5 percent is forecast.
