In the past few days, several doctors have contacted our editorial office, saying that they do not agree with the position of the IOC and that they are among the "silent majority". What their letters have to say is published below.

The position of the Hungarian Medical Chamber does not reflect the opinion of the entire Hungarian medical community.

Based on the events of the last few days, we feel that we have to declare that the above subtitle contains the truth.

None of us can give a substantive opinion on the war of declarations between the State Secretariat for Health and the Hungarian Medical Chamber, as we were not present at the discussions. At most, we try to read between the lines, and at least it seems strange how, according to the news, the Chamber changes its position every day.

However, let's nail down the following facts. In Hungary, all doctors must also be members of the Chamber of Commerce. We can only fulfill our profession if we have a membership. For the majority of us, this consists of paying the annual membership fee handsomely, and from then on we do not have much contact with the Chamber. At most, the Doctors' Journal sometimes appears in the hospital, and is flipped through a couple of pages.

Besides, there are those who grumble about the membership fee, saying they don't get anything for it.

The election of delegates does not particularly excite the medical community, and we also know that, unfortunately, the Chamber cannot avoid being the scene of national politics.

Therefore, since we all feel that the health sector needs reforms, we were happy to see that a restructuring of the organization of the State Secretariat for Health has begun. Many people have already written a lot about the details of this, we will not classify it in points here. However, the activity of the Chamber, according to which it basically rejects everything, then apparently pretends to agree at the hearing, and then denies everything again, indicates an attitude that is not constructive at all.

Since our position does not agree with the opinion of the Chamber, we continue to work and do not deposit our letter of resignation.

It is our duty to present the letter received by CÖF-CÖKÁ to the public and recommend it to all doctors for consideration.
