The accusations of the French member of the European Parliament Gwendoline Delbos-Corfield against Hungary have no basis in reality, and the intentional denigration of Hungary can cause confusion in NATO, József Horváth, security policy expert of the Fundamental Rights Center, stated to the Hungarian Nation.

"Whoever creates distrust towards the secret services within the alliance system of the Union and NATO commits a crime. (...) Anyone who is unable to assess that we are now living in a period of war and that we cannot say any stupid things is a serious problem for both the Union and NATO," said the expert in the interview published on Friday regarding the fact that the Green Party French representative accused the Hungarian secret services of leaking to Russia.

He said: “anyone who makes such a statement can upset the internal balance of a federal system. It is as if he is serving external interests with his statement".

József Horváth replied to the question that more and more derogatory information is appearing in neighboring countries and in the international press about Hungary: this has nothing to do with the fact that Hungary does not supply weapons to Ukraine. He believes that these serve domestic political interests and have nothing to do with the current statement. "It should be noted that in this heightened war atmosphere, everyone is much more tense, so it happens that even politicians say stupid things. However, these should not be confused with a deliberate dumping of information discrediting Hungary, of which this Delbos-Corfield story was also a part."

The Magyar Nemzet noted: from the point of view of national security, the fact that Gwendoline Delbos-Corfield is connected to György Soros' network on several lines is also an important circumstance.
